That's a drag hearing about Sturgis. Was watching on the webcam, did notice that every time I logged in, the 1st thing I saw was a group of cops, on every cam ? Reminded me a little of Hollister 97. Was so bad there, I got off the road and just sat on a fence line, watching as the bikes went by. Every other bike had a black & white with his red & blues flashing. They were herding everybody into a park at the south end of town, I found a place by myself and camped there, spent the night in a patch of poison oak, paid for that a few days later.
I got out of town the next day, headed for the Kern. Didn't see a cop the rest of my trip, thats because they were all back in Hollister.
Also noticed that there didn't seem to be that many bikes, Lazelle St. usually has a line at every stop sign, not this year.
Was also hard to hear about your friend, shouldn't happen.
They have always "gouged" at Sturgis, and you think it couldn't get any worse. Son came to visit last week, The 3 of us went out to dinner one evening. By the time we walked out the door the tab came to $260 ? Will be eating at home from here on out.....Welcome to 2026.
Guess it comes down to "it's about the ride anyway" ..... Good you made it home safe !
