Good morning to Boss Skinner, Regional Presidents, Patched Members, Prospects, and Support.
I am setting here this morning reading the entry’s in the guests book. It seems as though each one of us has a souvenir that we brought home with us form our side trip to Viet Nam. God only knows how many I relate to. Over the years that I have been going to the VA hospital in Seattle I have set and watched the mass of people come in and go out, hour after hour. Each time I go there I ask myself did anyone come home with nothing wrong? Then I tell my self you are lucky, you came home. I talk to myself a lot, sometimes he’s pretty smart, other times not so, but at least I have someone to talk to. I talk to God also, he listens, but he doesn’t say much. If he did I am sure he would have a “whole” lot to say to me.
The things / souvenirs that have crept into our lives that are an inconvenience to us, or sometimes worse, has not stopped this group of men (brothers) from doing what they love. As long as we are still breathing, and can get upright, we will ride.
Brother ZOOT thank you for the offer of a cot at your home if I end up going to DC to the wall. Perryville MO. Has a replica of the wall. If it looks as nice as the other I may not go to DC. What I see in reading the guestbook, their seems to be other brown water vets? If so we can swap lies at National. Six mo. Is a long time so I wont hold my breath. Till then ride safe, stay warm, and get healthy.

Top of the morning Boss Skinner, brothers, prospects, & support

It's been some time since I last wrote a post, so here I am, first off I love reading everyones posts, great reading your stories and about your travels.

All is well here in my A.O. of Pennsylvania, cold, snowy, I just like sitting at home in the warmth enjoying my fake fireplace with a glass of wine and my beautiful woman D9. it's very relaxing for the both of us.

Haven't started lame/andy in a couple of months, I need to get that done. A friend got the itch to ride, stopped by to see if I was interested in taking a ride with him last Friday, I almost let him talk me into it, but got to thinking about how dirty the rodes are in these parts, they won't touch them until spring, tax payers money at work, yeah right !!

Talked to Boss Skinner on Saturday, great hearing from him, I had an issue and brought it to his attention and he had an answer which I went with along with what he said, "it's up to you, use your gut feeling" and I did just that and all are happy, thanks boss for your wisdom. There couldn't be a better club president, it's a damn shame our country couldn't follow our rules and ways..

Heading out to the Dr's today, got a fatty mass growing in my neck, she'll see what's up with it and then schedule an appointment to have it removed, I always wonder if this is a side affect of agent orange, I'm always like that with anyting abnormal that happens to me now a days.

well just want to let all know all is well here in Pa. Great health to you all and looking forward to meeting you in the near future.

Sure hope things all go well and quite over this next week. Please stay away from any encounters and be safe. I know most do not agree with what has transpired but lets wait and see how this plays out.

On another note the CLUB I assure you is in great shape growing and finances are solid.

I hope the weather breaks so we can plan patching in our PROSPECTS soon. I would like to ride to a location in the MIDWEST to PATCH_IN the two here in the MIDWEST.

Nephropathy still dealing me a fit sore feet and finger tips not right yet.Next doctor visit in March and hopefully it will continue to be good news.

Hello Boss, all Officers, patched Members, Prospects & Support! We finally had a little snow last night. I want to say Hello to Prospect Rebel, I don’t know you from In-Country but I recognized the “Look” & the small part of your boat in the picture that you were a Swift Boat Sailor. I was in Division 11 July ‘67-May ‘68 then we went to Division 14 when the Monsoon shifted to the North East. Looking forward to meeting you in June!

I think I have convinced my self to get Stage IV put in the trike while the sale is still on at the Harley shop in Bloomington. Their add now says they will pick up & deliver the bike for free.

I guess I have given up on a call from the VA in Indianapolis to schedule the COVID vaccine. I’m scheduled to get it done on the 27th of January at the Health Department in Bloomington.

Thinking about medication; the Advanced Practice Nurse who did all of the medication prescriptions for sleep, PTSD, & all the other assorted reasons here in Bloomington recently retired after more than 20 years with the VA. All of us who saw her were farmed out to new providers, I was assigned to someone who never sees her patients & is not even in Indiana. I hadn’t gotten around to asking for someone different after she missed calling me for the first 3 appointments. The 4th appointment she finally called , 20 minutes late, & started down her long checklist with me. About halfway through I was thinking this isn’t going to work, then she started taking about medications & asked how long I had been taking Temazepam for Sleep Apnea. I told her I had no idea, I couldn’t remember, “Check the record” I said. She said since 2016. Then she asked about side effects, I couldn’t think of any, she asked if I had any problems remembering things, had I had any problems with falling. Yes both of those. Then she told me that the VA did not like to have patients over 65 on Temazepam more than 6 weeks! I had been taking it for 5 years!! The biggest risk is diminished ability to use short term memory (dementia). I am always careful to look at medication side effects & to research procedures that VA Drs. want to do. Mostly though I never did that in the case of this nurse because she was the facilitator of the Combat Veterans PTSD Group & prescribed all of our medication for about 20 years. I am almost weaned off Temazepam now & feel much better & sleep better. So I think I learned a valuable lesson. My Primary Care Doctor does not believe in prescribing handfuls of pills to his patients, especially pain pills. I don’t take any for the neuropathy in my hands & feet & sciatica in my back. I get acupuncture & deep tissue massage instead.

I’m thinking about Brother Big John & his wife this evening. The last I heard they are starting their treatment for CORONA VIRUS on Tuesday next week. We all hope they have a speedy recovery & return to good health. We are all pretty much in the risky age group & have other health problems that put us in the higher risk group for the virus. I stay home as much as possible, wear my mask, & social distance & I will get the vaccine in a week & a half.

That’s all from Indiana.

Good morning Boss Skinner, Officers, Patched Members, Prospects & Support! On my way to VA Hospital at Indy to see the foot doctor. Only good thing about being diabetic: free shoes & socks, pedicures every 3 months & foot check every 3 months.

I am ready for Spring but we have snow coming in the next few days.

Just refinanced my VA Loan. The rate for a 30-year loan is 3.5% but I’m making additional principal payment each month to pay it off in 12-years so the effective rate is 1.65%.

I just remembered it is Dues time. I need to check the address to send it to.

I think I am going to get Stage 4 done on the trike. Even though they suggested at Harley I “might not want the additional power” meaning you might be too old to handle it! Haha.

Well I’m almost at the VA, oh I’m not texting & driving.....my wife offered to drive because “it is too risky” for me to drive 50 miles in the dark. 😎😎.

Zoot signing off! See you all at the Annual Run.

From: Wayne W. Watts sr. kilo . Good morning to Boss Skinner, Regional Presidents, Patched Members, Prospects, and Support. It seems that I like every one else is chomping at the bit for the summer nationals. I am looking forward to making this ride, and I hope it’s with my NW president RAIDO. When I last talked to him, he indicated that we might meet up with a couple of members to ride with on the ride to the national. I am looking forward to meeting everyone that can make the trip. Like most prospects, I would like to put a face “person “to the name that I have talked to on the internet. There is a question that I would like to ask our National President Boss Skinner, Regional Presidents, Patched Members “Brother’s” and prospects. Is there any reason that when the NAM VETS NOMAD MC National is over, and we depart to the four wind’s, that I cannot, or should not, continue on to Washington DC. The reason for this side trip, is that two years ago I was going to make the ride back to DC. For the last Rolling Thunder, and go to the Wall, and pay my respects to some Brown Water Brothers. Unfortunately, my trip was cut short at Rock Springs WY. There’s where I hit the wall. They told me that my kidneys were starting to shut down, and by the time they let me out of the hospital there was not enough time to make the rest of my trip to DC. So, if there is no reason, I would like any advice, or company from anyone that is going that way, or would like to ride with me to the Wall, I would appreciate it, especially from someone that I can call Brother, that understands why I need to go to the Wall, so that I can close this chapter of my life. If you happen to read this, and any of it falls in your agenda, please let me know. Till we meet this summer, don’t push it, wait till the ice on the roads have thawed. Ride safely, watch out for the idiots that don’t see us, and enjoy that wind therapy. We are going to need it. Drive On Brothers. kilo

I had to run through all buttons to remember what they did . Once we got going ,God did it feel good. Put her back to bed, and we will wait for the next sunny day.

Boss Skinner, National & Regional Officers, All the Patched Members—my Brothers, Prospects, & Support.....Hello to one & all! Things are good in my little corner of the world, good but not great. My Uncle died from the COVID the day after Christmas. He was the last member of my Mother’s immediate family. I think my health is improving, I feel better physically. I have been getting work done on the Trike, Stages 1, 2, & 3 are installed & it is running really good. I have found a local guy who does powder coating & other appearance work. When he finishes it will be pretty much all black. There is a guy near here who is the one to see to get seat work done. I want something done that will allow me to ride in comfort but I haven’t met with him yet. I tried a Mustang seat on another bike but it was too much. It was about 3” thicker than the OEM seat so it was almost impossible to get my leg over the seat so I don’t want to make that mistake again. Rascal wants to get his Prospect induction done prior to the National so we are looking at end of May, 1st week of June. He wants to go to West Virginia for a couple of days to get it done so SAA RTO has been helping him with the planning. I plan to ride over from Indiana to meet Rascal, RTO,& maybe one other person. Then if the world doesn’t end before National we (the NE Region) will be ready to go in June. One thing I want to make sure I do this time is get pictures of everyone so I know who everyone is in a crowd. I got my first ride of the year on the 2nd. It was a little brisk, 22 degrees.

Boss Skinner I read all the messages I was behind on the web page. 😎😎

That is about all that is happening. Just looking forward to the National Run.

If anyone is coming through Indiana & needs a place to stop let me know, always glad to see some Brothers.

Happy new year Boss Skinner, regional Boss's, brothers, prospects, & support.
well it's here 2021, lets not repeat 2020 or follow it's guide lines.
Hoping everyone is doing well or as well as to be expected.
I have a few small issues thats getting resolved before it gets out of hand, I have a cyst in my neck about the size of a golfball, no real problem as of yet, interested in knowing if it has anything to do with agent orange.
Been couped up for the last several weeks, no where to really go, the Tyrant of Pa lock us down for the third time, killing more family owned business's, yet his cabinet business survives..
On a good note the days are getting longer each day, before you know it spring will here and then the national will be upon us.
Hey boss if it's ok, D9 & myself and I'm guessing for prospect Rascal would like to stay at the resort down the road if possible..
Not much to report, wishing everyone a wonderful new year

Want to make a short response to Prospect Kilo.
1st. Yes, we are a Brotherhood.
2nd. You found someone who showed you a different way, a better way, and you got to spend 50 years with her ...You Were Blessed !
3rd.. There is a say'n "I'm not as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was" ... so let's do it "one more time".
4th.. You made the comment "I felt that I could not fulfill my responsibilities as a prospect." ...... you paid that price some 50 years ago.
Welcome Home Brother

Good morning to Boss Skinner, Regional Presidents, Patched Members, Prospects, and Support. I have had a couple of days to come up with what, and how I want this letter to be able to let all of you know and feel what I am feeling now. I am going to make this a real short background. As a kid I was shuffled from one place, then to another. As I grew up the only person that I cared about was myself. Thank GOD my wife was able to show me what honest caring, and love was. This she was able to give me for over 50 yrs. Her passing jest over a year ago I thought that I would not see or feel that again. Over the last 6 month’s that I have been getting to know the people that make up the NAM VETS NOMAD MC, I found that these men really understand the meaning of “brother hood”. Nothing could have brought this out for me see any more than what this group of men that make up the leadership of the NAM VETS NOMAD MC did for a Vietnam brother. Several weeks ago I requested that I be removed as a prospect, due to the increasing advancement of my Parkinson. I felt that I could not fulfill my responsibilities as a prospect. Instead of accepting my request, they showed me that their understanding of brotherhood went to far greater depth’s than jest words. These officers that were elected by the members of this MC, stood up and took another look at a Vietnam vet that’s not 100% prospect material. Kind of like a old book that’s been read a lot. I feel that these men opened their hearts and saw a Nam vet that wanted to belong to this brother hood, but felt he would be a hindrance, not an asset. They have asked me to continue as a prospect, and to participate in the club functions as much as I can. I can’t say thank you enough, it’s a small fraise, but to me I have my heart attached to it. To all the officers that went out of their way for another vet., to all the patched members, my brother prospects, and support, I thank you, and wish all of you a very HAPPY NEW YEAR. Wayne (KILO) Watts sr.
